Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, Hong Kong
Many of the world’s starchitects are trying to scale record heights with their buildings in Asia. But Sir Norman Foster is going long, not tall, with his design for the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in Hong Kong—nearly 3,000 feet in length, in fact. Opening in June, Kai Tak will feature high-tech, extra-large gangways, green-certified materials and a 30,000-square-foot roof garden overlooking Victoria Harbor. Passengers disembarking from a luxury liner may want to linger a while and take in the views.
