Los Angeles Council approves water wheel on L.A. River
The Los Angeles City Council on gave its approval to build a 70-foot steel water wheel in the Los Angeles River north of Downtown as both an art project and practical way to hydrate the area. Developed by Metabloic Studios, the $10million project envisions erectingthe wheel in the river underneath the North Broadway Bridge, near Chinatown's Los Angeles State Historic park. It is completely privately funded by the firm, which so far has received 22 different permits for the work.
